The food meets U.S. Coast Guard standards, kosher and meets the dictates for Halal. The three day food supply consists of three 1200 calorie bars stored in the inside bottom of the vest with the water supply.

The food supply has a five-year shelf life. It is non-thirst provoking, withstands temperatures of -40 to 300 degrees. It contains ample vitamins and minerals.
